My daughter was deep into her inquisitive years at age 3 1/2. We had a conversation about Heaven and how her Nana (my mother) had passed away just a few years before. Her response was to state matter-of-factly, "Mommy, I think when people die, God reaches down his long arms and brings them back up to Heaven."
The idea for a book was born.
If there was ever a time when words never seem the right way to respond, it is when we or someone close to us loses someone they love. We would give anything to reach out our arms and heal the hearts of those who are mourning or pull Heaven just a little closer.
The story follows the activity of a young soul preparing for his earthly purpose. During a walk with the Heavenly Father, not only does the soul learn more about where he is going, but also when and how he will return home again.
We are proud to offer our inaugural story through Amazon. We hope you will enjoy the colorful illustrations and the heartfelt message with your family.
As an extension of the story and what it has meant to us, we also offer personalized dedications for those who have experienced loss and grief. We would be honored to wrap an arm of compassion and comfort around them today.
The song that started it all. Alan Jackson describes the loss of a dear friend. The lyrics prompted a conversation with my daughter about Heaven and the passing of my mother.
The words of Ed Sheeran pierced open my heart. I was reminded of how much time had passed since losing my mother and what it would be like to be with her for just a few more minutes.
Ellie Holcomb tenderly reminds us of how our Father sees us. Her words came just as we were preparing to publish this first story and reminded us that we are all perfectly made to be just who we are.
And He took the children in His arms and blessed them.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Let not your heart be troubled... I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
